Why We Exist
We started GroBro because we believe that reading changes everything. A single book can ignite imagination, build empathy, and unlock a child’s future. But today, far too many children grow up without meaningful access to books, the confidence to read them, or the guidance to make sense of what they read.
The Problem We’re Solving
According to the ASER Report, more
than 70% of children in Grade 5 across India
are unable to read even a Grade 2 level text.
More than half of children aged
6–17 read fewer than one book per month outside school textbooks, reveals a study by Scholastic India.
Since 2020, urban children in India
spend double the time on screens,
leaving much less time for reading,
thinking, and offline learning activities.
Although digital content is widely available,
curated and level-appropriate reading material is still limited for first-generation or
multilingual learners across India.
This is not just a literacy gap. It’s a confidence gap. A comprehension gap. A creativity gap. And it's growing every year.
